2015 Capitol Conference — Stand Up and Be Heard
February 23-25

For twenty-five years, NAHU members have been coming to Washington, D.C., to stand together and make their voices heard. This year, make sure your voice is amongst the crowd. By registering for NAHU’s 25th Annual Capitol Conference, you will have the opportunity to join with hundreds of your colleagues from around the country to lobby for health reform changes of importance to you and your clients on Capitol Hill. You will also get to hear from exciting speakers representing Congress, the Administration and other health reform stakeholders, network with other agents and see our Health Underwriters Political Action Committee at work. With the 114th Congress having just convened under new leadership, now is the perfect time to come to Washington, D.C., and stand up as a force for change.

Monday’s General Session Keynote

Monday’s General Session will feature a presentation by David Houle on the future of healthcare. David Houle is consistently ranked as one of the top futurists in the world today. In the last five years he has delivered keynotes on six continents in 12 countries. He has received two Emmys and the prestigious George Foster Peabody award. Tuesday's General Session Speaker

We are excited to announce the confirmation of Chris Cillizza, Washington Post reporter and author of the politics blog "The Fix," as Tuesday's general session speaker. He covers the White House for the Post and Post website and has appeared as a guest on NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News Channel and CNN to talk politics. He is also an MSNBC political contributor. Chris will provide his insight and outlook to the 2016 election that will center around the much discussed presidential candidates for both parties.

Tuesday's General Session

To be a trusted advisor and problem solver, you need to do more than stay on top of the latest trends. You need to get ahead of them and help drive the conversation for higher-value healthcare among employers and insurers.

That's why the NAHU Education Foundation has developed an exciting webinar series for 2015 entitled, "The New Healthcare Landscape: How to Make It Work for Your Clients." Register here today to learn the latest news, trends and practices from national experts in this free, 10-part series that will help brokers stay abreast of the latest developments in healthcare delivery, payment and transparency. You will learn how to get your clients more value for their healthcare dollars.

The first webinar, "The High Cost of Healthcare: What's Driving It? What Can Brokers Do About It?," will be held live during Tuesday's General Session at NAHU's Capitol Conference on February 24. If you are not going to be there in person, you can view the presentation online.

This webinar series is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and open to all who are interested and offered free of charge. Register today at

Wednesday's General Session Panel

As an agent or broker we know you're in a great position to examine the ins and outs of the 2015 open enrollment period, but sometimes a different perspective can be illuminating. Once open enrollment closes on February 15, different stakeholders will have insights into how it affected their industry and in what ways the next enrollment period could be improved on. We are excited to announce we have a panel set to do just that on Wednesday morning, with representatives that will cover consumers, small businesses, insurance plans and large employers. The panel will include speakers from the National Restaurant Association, Small Business Majority, America's Health Insurance Plans and Enroll America. The panel will be narrated by former NAHU President Russ Childers.

Your Best Value!

Based on attendee feedback, we are continuing CapConPLUS. This year, each session includes so much content about nuanced aspects of health reform that you're going to want to attend them all. Sessions will focus on employer mandate and reporting, containing healthcare costs, navigating special enrollment periods and more. The schedule only allows for enough time for attendees to pick two sessions to attend in person, but with CapConPLUS you don't have to miss a thing! By selecting CapConPLUS during registration, you will receive audio recordings of all general sessions and breakouts, synced to the PowerPoints.
