Going Out in New Orleans
||Sunday morning’s General Session will feature Terry Bradshaw, football player, television personality & athlete. The first player selected in the 1970 draft, Bradshaw went to great success with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Throughout his time in the NFL, he helped take his team to the Super Bowl several times and rightfully earned four Super Bowl rings. Following his successful career, he became a leading television personality and analyst for the NFL. Bradshaw became one of CBS network's game analysts. He eventually joined the staff of the show The NFL Today. After ten years with CBS, Bradshaw jumped ship for Fox Sports in 1994. He became one of the co-hosts and analysts on Fox NFL Sunday. With a sharp strategic mind and a warm sense of humor, Bradshaw has become one of football's most popular commentators. In addition to work on television, Bradshaw is an author, singer, actor and motivational speaker. He has written several best sellers, recorded both gospel and country music and has also appeared in several films & television shows. In addition, he travels the country each year, giving motivational speeches.|
||Monday's general session will kick off with the NAHU Education Foundation's Webcast 5: Benefit Design and Payment Reform: A Powerful Pair for Change - No discussion of payment reform is complete without addressing benefit and network designs and how they can help or hinder various payment reforms. When the right payment method is paired with the right benefit and/or network design, they can work together to help reduce costs and improve care. In this webinar, we’ll educate brokers on three examples of payment reform approaches that pair well with specific benefit/network designs: 1) reference pricing and bundled payment; 2) value-based insurance design and care coordination fees or shared savings; and 3) tiered and narrow networks and pay for performance. We’ll discuss how brokers and their clients can take the next step to implement one or more of these “powerful pairs.” Presenters for the webcast are: Mark Gaunya and Suzanne Delbanco|
||Following the Education Foundation presentation the keynote speaker is David Mead, an international speaker and expert Start with Why Facilitator. Every single one of us deserves to wake up inspired to go to work and to come home at the end of the day fulfilled by the work we do. At least that’s what David Mead believes. David works with leaders to help them create an environment where people show up to work because they want to, not because they have to; an environment in which people are inspired to contribute to something bigger than themselves. Everything David does is designed to propel positive change so that people can progress toward what really matters. Much of David’s early career was spent in corporate training. In 2009, frustrated and discouraged by his personal experience with poor leadership in the work place, he seized the opportunity to partner with Simon Sinek’s team. Simon is a world-renowned thought leader and author of Start With Why and New York Times bestseller Leaders Eat Last. Now, as an international speaker and consultant, David helps people look at their careers and organizations from an alternative perspective; to consider their “Why”(their higher cause or purpose), then to think, act and communicate in a way that brings that Why to life. You won’t want to miss his inspiring message.|
