HIFA Waivers

HHS Secretary announced on May 9, 2001, a new program designed to promote states' flexibility and innovation in the 1115 and 1915 wavier programs (click for HHS news release). The prominent feature of the program is the promotion of approaches that increase private health insurance coverage options for the uninsured. The program does not require any further infusion of federal or state funding (click for program objectives and requirements) By completing the application template, states will significantly reduce their time and resources expended, and review of the application will be expedited.
